There is a version of a golf trip where the clubs are the whole trip. You plan the drive to the airport around the bag. You queue at a different desk. You watch it disappear down a belt and hope. Golf on the Costa Blanca

The stretch from Denia down to the Murcian border is one of the easiest golf trips in Europe to organise. Alicante airport sits in the middle of it, most courses are within forty minutes of the terminal, and green fees run friendlier than further west.

Spain plays all year, and this coast plays drier than most. While courses across northern Europe are frozen or waterlogged, the Costa Blanca is in shirtsleeves. It is one of the driest corners of the country, which means fewer washed-out rounds in the months when you most need one.
